LG KM900 Arena

Today LG Electronics announced the LG ARENA, its multimedia flagship model, at Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona, Spain. The ARENA's 3D S-Class touch-based user interface combines simple, fast navigation with a dynamic, interesting experience. LG aimed to eliminate unnecessary menus and instead created multiple home screens based around a 3D cube interface. Reel-scroll through icons, drag your finger across the screen to browse entertainment options, use "elastic lists" to browse contact information, or change camera settings with a familiar touch-sensitive virtual dial. Other features, such as LG's Floating Image Gallery allow pictures to align on the screen in order while holding the phone in portrait mode, or cause them to cascade and fall off the screen when turned to landscape mode.

The ARENA is first and only phone to use Dolby Mobile audio technology to deliver high quality surround sound for video content, and to enhance music content. Equalizer pre-sets allow the user to choose how the music sounds. The ARENA features a built-in FM transmitter to play through home or car stereo systems, and a 3.5mm audio jack ensures that your headphones will work the device.

The ARENA features a large 3.0-inch WVGA display which will show off the DVD quality videos recorded with the ARENA's 5 megapixel camera. Users can store images, video, and music on the ARENA's 8GB of internal memory or its microSD external card slot. LG estimates up to 30 hours of MP3 playtime and 300 hours of standby time on the powerful battery.

The LG ARENA features quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) support with dual-band UMTS (900/2100MHz) with HSDPA data connectivity. Support for dual-band UMTS (850/2100MHz) and UMTS (850/1900MHz) in separate global models is planned after ARENA's initial launch in Europe in March.
